Big day today! My baby turns 3 years old.
The day Ava was born was literally the best and one of the worst days of my life. About an hour after her delivery I received the news that my dad had been in a very bad accident. Moments earlier I had been trying desperately to get a hold of him to the share my most exciting news of Ava's arrival and couldn't understand why he wasn't picking up the phone.
As most of you know my dad didn't make it. Somehow through the worst time of my life Ava, this tiny newborn baby, helped me through this like nothing else could. God placed her in my arms literally when I needed her the most, she has been a source of strength and comfort for me ever since.
I have taken so much joy in watching her change and grow over the last 3 years. She amazes me on a daily bases. She has a kind and loving heart. She is strong willed and likes to be independent and getting more independent every day.
She is so smart and is always asking questions. She is interested in electronics and how things work like her daddy. Loves wearing girly dresses and nail polish. Isn't afraid of bugs, in fact she loves playing with them and calls them her friends (but Jason and mommy are her best friends of course).
I thank God for my little princess every day. I am beyond blessed.

She is very lucky little girl in that she will get to have 2 birthday parties! One here with a few friends and another one in a couple weeks to celebrate with her grandparents/aunt and uncles. Just 7 days till to we fly home!!
All set up for the party.
A little snack while we wait for our friends to arrive.
Her princess crown kept sliding off her little head.
Our menu included: Birthday cake pancakes, sausage (which was a favorite all around) yogurt, fruit, and apple/orange juice.
So excited!!
They colored while they waited for their breakfast.
Little man was in mommy mode, did not want me to put him down.
Matt's "hurry and take the picture, can't you see I'm making pancakes", face.
Singing happy birthday
Blowing out her candles.
Time to dig in!
Ava got a Woody doll! She loves him.
I think she was checking for Andy's name, which is on the other foot.
Group picture! Look at all those little princesses
Snuggled up watching Toy Story with "boody".
Playing on her new computer. Daddy built it for her!
Told you she doesn't mind bugs...
Playing with her new toys.
Resting right now while Jason takes his nap. My friend has agreed to watch Jason for us so we can take Ava out to dinner tonight, so the fun's not over yet! Might even take her ice skating.
So far Ava has had an awesome day!
So we ended up taking her out to eat at the local hibachi restaurant. She enjoyed watching them cook our food right in front of us.
For her "cake" she got a chocolate fruit cup at Fred Meyers...
She loved it! She actually got a whole lot messier but I was too busy trying to contain the chocolate mess to get another picture. All in all, Ava had an awesome day. Thank you everyone for all her birthday wishes, gifts and love!
