One of my new favorite things to do is pull myself up so I can pull the books out of the book shelf. My mom has all the books stuffed in real tight to try and stop me but I am sure soon I will be strong enough to pull them out anyway!
I have a white spot on my gums so we think that combined with a little fussiness at night means I might be getting my first tooth soon!
I got to swing yesterday for the first time at the park and I loved it!
I celebrated my first Easter and went to church. I just nursed and slept so my mommy and daddy got to snuggle me the whole time. They like that sort of thing, well, so do I.
Ooohh, I went on a plane this month! I got to fly with mommy back to Portland to visit some family while my dad stayed home with my brother and sister. Me and mom had a really fun time staying at Aunt Chelbe's, Nana and Papa's and Grandma LaVonna and Grandpa Rick's houses. I got to see my "twin" Wyatt and Emma and Caden. They're some pretty silly cousins! Emma was really sweet to me, she loved to bring me toys and pat my head. Caden loved to make me laugh!
I am wearing 9-12 month clothes
Still Breastfeeding and co-sleeping
No new teeth... YET!
Nibbling on new foods as my family eats them, like potatoes, ham, chicken, green beans etc.
I had a lemon in my Elmo mesh bag the other day, it was pretty tasty!
I like to get into everything now, especially the cat's food and water dish. Dad thinks it's funny if I eat some of the cat food.
I tried seaweed earlier this month and it's now one of my favorite snacks!
Saying goodbye to dad at the airport
On the plane with Mommy
Mommy and daddy bought me a baby jail to try to keep me out of trouble...
yeah, like that's going to work!
Mom says it's hard to get a picture of all 3 of us smiling at the same time!
Easter was so fun!
I got some fun Easter goodies to play with.
We love our snuggle time in the morning
I just started pulling myself all the way up to a standing position.
Ava is a very good big sister and looks out for both of her little brothers.
She has a very sweet nature and cares a lot about making others feel good. When family comes to visit she goes and gets out anything that person may have given her in the past year and display's or wears whatever it is. If they played a specific game on their last visit she will prepare that same game for them on their current visit. When it comes to other kids she is very gentle and considerate, she makes sure whoever she is playing with is happy or okay. She is totally happy playing with anyone whether they are much younger, older or the same age.
She seems to be quite over her daily/weekly temper tantrums. Ava is such an independent person that we struggled for awhile trying to find a good balance of listening and being able to make some of her own decisions. We are bumping heads a lot less these days which has been just lovely.
Ava is definitely a daddy's girl! They love doing things together like playing minecraft, looking at the inside of dad's computer, going to robotics club or playing with LEDs. She knows way more about computers than I do!
For her birthday dinner she requested pizza but Ava isn't a picky eater. She loves all kinds of foods but some of her favorites are:
"all kinds of fruit"
"sandwiches"
"spaghetti and meatballs"
Her favorite color is Pink, Purple and Rainbow... mostly Rainbow.
When Ava grows up she wants to be a Kite maker.
She wants to make "thousands and thousands of kites!"
Ava's Rainbow Dash Rainbow Tutu
She woke up to a big surprise and some fun birthday presents, special sugar cereal and flowers!
Grandma Terri and Grandpa Dave bought Ava a Barbie Dreamhouse!
Aunt Chelbe bought her the cutest My little Pony wallet for Ava's gift cards and cash.
Princess Ava!
A special treat at Starbucks
Her new Fluttershy dress and a princess necklace from Nana and Papa
Ava at first wanted a half frozen cake half minecraft but we later decided on a My little Pony theme and cake which I think everyone loved!
5 layers of Rainbow cakes
6 different colors of frosting!
It was so fun working with so many colors
Rainbow Dash's Rainbow Cake!
I didn't wipe off the knife otherwise you'd see clean rainbow lines!
Grandma LaVonna drove over to help with Ava's party! We were so lucky to have her. She was an excellent clean up assistant and co-organizer. Where I couldn't be she was there. Without her everything would not have been as fun or gone so smoothly.
So for the party we went to a local pottery painting place called Wild @ art. We chose to do canvas paintings instead of pottery this time around.
Each child received a set of wings, a pair of pony ears and a pony tail to wear during the party. They were also given a special name card with their pony name and a bit about themselves.
For example:
Ava's pony name is
Serenity Moon
"You are a Royal Alcorn born in Canterlot Castle.
You are the daintiest pony this side of Horseshoe Bay!
Your best friend is a duck named Dylan"
We got their pony names and descriptions from a pony name generator HERE.
Matt made these super cute name cards and party labels for me
Getting ready for her friends to arrive!
Setting out everyone's name cards.
We had 9 kids in total!
Then we PAINTED!
The kids all did such a great job. We had tracing paper, graphite paper and some coloring pages incase the kids wanted to paint something specific, which they all ended up doing.
Isn't he cute with his new haircut and pony ears!?
Ava's Rainbow Dash Cutie mark
Grandma LaVonna, me and the birthday girl herself drinking some of Pinkie Pie's Pink Punch!
Working on Ponyville's Grand masterpiece!
Each child painted on their hand print and signed the canvas.
It turned out so cute!
Matt was in charge of
Twilight Sparkle's cutie mark station
Also, not pictured, the Spa Pony's Nail Salon
Grandma and a friends mom took care of the nail salon station for me.
We had nail polish in every shade of the rainbow!
Getting ready for cake
&&
Presents!
The kids really got a kick out of the re-lighting candles. I thought they were sparkler candles but they didn't really work out that way... of well. They thought it was hilarious!
I had so much fun planning and putting this party together. I think Ava LOVED it and LOVED sharing her special moment with her friends.
So thankful for all the mom's that helped and to grandma and Matt for being so great filling in the gaps and doing whatever I asked them to do! It would have been a mess without them!!
