Our little 4th of July

We had a pretty mellow 4th. Tidied up around the house, ran into town to do some errands and then came home to do a few small fireworks with Ava. We aren't allowed any fireworks that shoot into the air on base, besides that it is light out almost 24 hours a day so they would be really hard to see anyway. So we made due with some sparklers, smoke bombs, snakes, pop its, fire crackers (that Matt threw into our kiddie pool) and one more I forgot the name of. Ava loved the pop its, she even stepped on them barefoot, on purpose!

Today Ava and I did a craft to go with the 4th of July theme.

Our photographers...

The finished product!

As soon as it dries (wish I would have used a lot less paint) we will find a home for it on a wall in the house somewhere. I have a lot of red, white and blue decor so it won't be hard to find a spot for it.

Matt was given two days off of work for the 4th! It was nice having him home and now just one more day of work and we have him for the weekend. I hope everyone had a great Holiday, we can't wait till we come home or at least live closer to home so we can celebrate with you all (and have big fireworks again!!)!
